Three Candidates for Namchi-Singithang Constituency of Namchi District belonging from the Different Parties of Sikkim Addressed the Press During Election Poll for the Area MLA Post
During today’s election polls on different areas of Namchi district, three candidates from three parties for Namchi-Singithang constituency were approached by media fraternity with different questions, to which the candidates have replied to all.

SKM Candidate for Namchi-Singithang constituency, Krishna Kumari Rai, known to be SKM party cadre since its forming in 2009, exercised her right to vote for the General Elections for Parliamentary and Assembly Constituencies in the first hour of April 19, at Namchi Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Institute at Boomtar.

After casting her votes, Krishna Kumari Rai, expressed her potential victory in the election this year. According to her, water scarcity is still the biggest problem in Namchi which she plans to resolve after her securing the post of the area MLA.

On the other hand, the CAP candidate of Namchi-Singithang constituency, Mahesh Rai, former president of Sikkim University Student Association (SUSA) has an opinion that the election process in 2024 lacked complete fairness in Namchi District. However, he expects gaining votes from the ‘silent voters’. During his visit to the polling station at Namchi Government Senior Secondary School, Mahesh Rai has stated that the silent voters in Namchi are mostly those voters who are discreetly supporting the parties other than the ruling SKM Party of Sikkim.

Furthermore, the SDF party candidate for Namchi-Singithang constituency, Bimal Rai, retired BDO of Namchi, yesterday have shared that he visited almost 1500 houses while campaigning in the area, in Namchi. However, he stated that all the political violence were effectively subdued by the authorities before they took place during his campaigning. He have even thanked the Election Commission Namchi Office for the smooth electoral process upheld by them.
The result of counting votes from yesterday’s election poll will be held on first week of June and the candidates were directed to refrain from any poll or survey by the Election Commission Namchi Office till then.
