Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, Carried out in Rayong Forest
Forest Division Namchi (Territorial) in the presence of SLA Deputy Speaker, Rajkumari Thapa, observes ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’.

The plantation is commenced in Rayong Forest, under Ravangla Subdivision, Namchi District on August 01.
SDM, BDO, and SDPO of Ravangla, and Panchayats and SHGs of Ravangla Subdivision, planted 1800 Oak saplings in Rayong Forest, from 10AM.
Peggyla Tshering Venchungpa, DFO (T) Namchi, Bhuan Subba, ACF (T/HQ) Namchi, Sanjeev Kumar Rai, ACF (T) Namchi, Neeraj Pradhan, ACF (T) Ravangla, Umesh Kapil RO (T) Namchi, and all field staffs of Namchi Range and Ravangla Range, supported and guided the guests in plantation.
As per the directives of Union Ministry, the plantation of 25 lakhs saplings from Sikkim, for Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, is to be planted.
SLA Deputy Speaker, Rajkumari Thapa, mentions that the state has fully accepted this plantation movement of Union Government. And shares that the state is gaining global level prestige from its ‘Mero Rukh Mero Santati’ (MRMS). Meanwhile, e state’s avenue plantation scheme of ‘mero bato mero bot’ is going to meet the popularity.
“All these three schemes are for our own benefits, not for winning prizes,” Deputy Speaker Rajkumari Thapa says.
DFO Namchi, Peggyla Venchungpa shares that seventeen hundred registration for MRMS, has been received from Namchi District alone.
She states that ASHA workers will be the main patrons of MRMS. However, Mero bato mero bot, is being carried out in state highways only, she also says.
DFO Namchi, Peggyla Venchungpa shares their excitement of creating an Oak Forest from today’s plantation. Everyone participating in today’s plantation event, have placed the names of their late mothers near the saplings.
