Golay at Rabong shared that after the ongoing railway link construction between NJP and Rangpo finishes being established, it takes only 45 minutes to reach Sikkim from Siliguri. He adds that a new bill has Melli-Gangtok road refinements, which allows vehicles to reach Gangtok within two hours from Siliguri. He believes that the tourist inflow in Sikkim will be much greater than it is now.

With the agreement between BCCI and Sikkim Cricket Association, chief minister Prem Singh Tamang mentioned that the youths from Sikkim is earning much more from the game. He also said that the best Cricket Ground from Northeast India is in Rangpo, which can attract games of national level in Sikkim. Successfully developing sports tourism in the State.

On a much criticized fund usage by State government in organizing festivals and events, CM Tamang, retaliated by stating that Sikkim has got a potential in organizing events. He announces in Rabong for organizing Asian events and hosting world events in the future. But, the objectives of organizing events is to make people self reliant and make possible tourism boom in Sikkim, he emphasized.

CM Tamang mentioned various places in West Sikkim and Namchi which has exemplary homestay businesses. And shared his plans in building mega-homestays across the state by this year.

The challenges of creating an able Sikkimese society:

Chief Minister PS Tamang in Rabong, on Wednesday, urges people to make proper utilization of financial aid received from the government for businesses.

The financial aids for business setup are given to beneficiaries from: Jal Kalyan Prakosta, CM discretionary fund, and SKM party fund, CM Golay shared. However, all the beneficiaries are not making proper utilization of the fund, he says.

In their last tenure of SKM government, PS Tamang shared that almost one thousand vehicles are distributed to individuals. But only some of the beneficiaries could make good use of the benefit. While others sold off the vehicles and bought vehicles with lower prices, he said.

Upcoming events with possible tourism boom in Sikkim:

CM Golay with the mentioning of successful organizing of ‘Gangtok’s Got Talent’ in Gangtok, and ‘Kalakar Bharosha Sammelan’ in Namchi, announces the upcoming events in the state.

CM Golay, in relation to the ’50 years of Statehood’, informed national level moto rally in the village roads of Sikkim, to be held from April 22 onwards. And shared that a media conclave is going to be held on May 13. He further announced a cultural fest in Paljor Stadium this year, with PM Narendra Modi as an honored guest.
