RSMC HCS on Good Friday gathers in the church to hear the sermon of the Day, delivered by Reverend Pastor Sam Harsha Sereng.

Around sixty members of the Church participate in singing hymns and offering, led by Church youths.

During his deliverance of the sermons on Good Friday, Rev. Ps. Sam H. Sereng, quotes Apostle Paul from New Testament, “I have fought a good fight…” and “The message of the Cross is foolishness for those who are perishing”.

In the sermon delivered today, the speaker connects the sins – disobedience and selfishness, of the Adam of Genesis, and God’s plan for his deliverance from them. “The time when the man was hiding from God because of his sins, God covered his nakedness,” Rev. Ps. Sam H. Sereng stated.

The sermon also quoted the lamb of Exodus, offered as a sacrifice to God, by Abraham and his son Issac, on Mount Moriah. Reverend Pastor Sam Harsha Sereng, says that God provided the lamb for those father and son. Similarly, he goes on saying, Jesus is the lamb which God has provided for saving all mankind.

“The Cross is said to be a scandalous subject,” he further said. While explaining that the Cross is associated with blame, curse, shame, and dishonour.

He also mentioned the number of wounds Jesus had at the time of his death, wounds on his head because of wearing ‘Christ’s crown’, and the size of holes in his body because of the nails he was stuck on the tree. Reverend Pastor Sam Harsha Sereng said that Doctor Luke (the writer of the third book of New Testament), had had announced the death of Jesus before His burial.

As the gathering of today’s service are getting ready for Easter Celebration, the congregation will observe ‘a sunrise service’ at 5AM on Sunday.
