NCC Camp Successfully Conducted at Namchi

The Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) for NCC cadets was held from 21 to 30 July 2025 at Alpine University, Namchi, organized by 1 Sikkim Battalion NCC under Darjeeling & Sikkim Group HQ. Over 400 cadets from across Sikkim participated in the 10-day camp, supported by PI staff, civil staff, GCIs, and ANOs/CTOs.

The camp featured military and personality development training including drill, firing, map reading, obstacle courses, fieldcraft, yoga, guard of honour, and cultural programmes. Cadets were also selected and trained for the Thal Sainik Camp 2025 and Republic Day Camp 2026.

Special sessions were held on digital awareness, civic responsibility, and disaster preparedness, with lectures from NDRF, traffic police, and civil defence officers. Activities included use of MyGov, My Bharat Portal, NDMA’s Sachet app, and participation in national-level quizzes.

The camp culminated with a motivational talk, prize distribution, and an address by Col. Pankaj Kumar, who urged cadets to pursue education, discipline, and service in line with the NCC motto: “Unity and Discipline.”

  • Disaster Preparedness: NDRF demo on survival techniques, casualty evacuation, CPR
  • Civic Education: Lecture on Civil Defence and POCSO Act by police officialsRoad Safety & Traffic Rules session by traffic police
  • Core Values Reinforced: Punctuality, discipline, national pride, and service before self

The Closing Ceremony included, prize distribution for outstanding cadets, address by Camp Commandant Col. Pankaj Kumar encouraging education, goal-setting, and responsible citizenship under the NCC motto: “Unity and Discipline”
