The objectives of the survey team of Mission Bermeli Namchi
Mission Bermeli of Namchi is a collective name of the people of Namchi belonging to every walk of life. With only two meetings, the survey team of Mission Bermeli Namchi is already surpassing ten field surveys and site visits and seven documentations so far.
The one objective of Mission Bermeli Namchi is to develop water source of Bermeli hill with tree plantations, which is 56 kilometers away from Namchi town.
However, the confusion in the objectives of Mission Bermeli Namchi is appearing due to their involvement in finding water source from other areas.
In quest to bring ample water supply to Namchi, Mission Bermeli Namchi is actively involved in permanent restoration of water trunks in Ravangla Bypass (NH-510).

The lower belt of Bermeli hill, at Chitrey, contains more water supply. Mission Bermeli Namchi after visiting the site have made the proposal of pumping water to storage tank.
Restoration of water trunks and water supply to Namchi
The works of permanent restoration of damaged water supply pipeline at Ravangla (NH-510) is on the planning. And as the main water trunks lay bare in Bypass Ravangla, PHED Namchi, is providing water from collective seasonal streams from around Namchi. About four to five kilometers away from PHED reservoir are Dharay, Gaddi, Pulgairi, and Ghattey streams.

PHED Namchi since one month is providing water from these seasonal sources to Namchi. But, the water availabiity in these sources will last only till the month of October, says assistant engineer, PHED Namchi, Sonam Karthak.
