The successful trial landing of consecutive MI-172 Helicopter at Namchi Assangthang Helipad and Yuksom Helipad has made a landmark success of airways in Sikkim.

This initiative is on November 19, 2024. Principle Director cum CEO of Sikkim Tourism Development Corporation (STDC), Rajendra Chettri is the team lead of this successful trial landing. District Administration and STDC of Namchi and Gyalsing are supporters of the initiative.

AGM, STDC (Helicopter Wing), Tejpal Pradhan, comments that today’s initiative is “a visible sign of good and productive governance”.

With the success of the trial landing of MI-172 Helicopter in these two places today, the people of West Sikkim and South Sikkim can take help for emergency or exigency in future. And Namchi Assangthang Helipad and Yuksom Helipad are available for the purpose of evacuation, relief and medical assistance, AGM STDC informs.

In the history of Sikkim, today, on 19th November 2024, Team Skyone Helicopter Airways and STDC achieved a landmark record by successfully completing a trial landing on two helipads on a single day. Assangthang Namchi Helipad and Yuksom Helipad, with Pilot in Command Captain TK Singh and his crew.

AGM Tejpal Pradhan, who was present in the trial landing extends his indepth gratitude to District Magistrate Anupa Tamling and District Magistrate Yeshey Doma Yongda for their support. And have shared that STDC has more plans of destination connectivity.
