Namchi FES Gives Awareness on Fire Emergencies to NCC Cadets
Namchi Fire and Emergency Services (NFES) gives free awareness programme on fire emergencies and rescuing. The students and civil societies of Namchi have been experiencing the awareness on disaster emergencies on various occasions.

The Assistant Fire Officer of Namchi, KB Gurung, says that the fire emergencies are among the most popular disasters. NFES, with six officers presented the various measurements taken during fire emergencies in the ongoing with the cadets of 1st Girls Bn NCC Camp and others, in Kamrang Namchi on July 26.
AFO KB Gurung undertaking theoretical session, explains prevention, precautions and prevention of fire emergency to the cadets. The event had four hundred cadets and staffs joining the session in the Camp.
The staffs of Namchi Fire and Emergency Services, undertaking practical session demonstrates rescuing and evacuation measures of fire disaster. They also had exhibition of numerous equipments and tools used during fire emergencies in the Camp.
Anyone going through emergencies can call in the emergency number – 112, of Sikkim Secretariat, and get help within 1 minute, KB Gurung said.
However, the first line of leadership for civilians during emergency need professional trainings. And 1st Girls Bn NCC with other cadets, trained today, still need hands-on training to become ready for handling fire emergencies.
The emergencies of fire disaster always witness fear and shock in the minds of the victims. But Namchi FES Department claims 100 per cent rescue and above 90 per cent recovery from them.
