Grand Consecration Ceremony at Ngadak Gumpa, Namchi – 2024

On October 22, 2024, His Eminence the 7th Namkhai Nyingpo Rinpoche, the head of the Nyingma sect of Buddhism from Bhutan, led a grand consecration (Rabney) ceremony at Ngadak Gumpa, Namchi. This significant religious event began at 9:30 AM, marking the consecration of Zangdolpalri Singkham, Kangyur Lhakhang, and Mani Dungkhor within the monastery.

His Eminence was supported by other prominent spiritual leaders, including Rinpoches from the Gonjang and Dungzin monasteries in Sikkim. Their joint participation in the ceremony underscored the deep spiritual connections between monasteries across Bhutan and Sikkim. The event organizers, Ngadak Gumpa Management Committee, dedicates the consecrated objects for the benefit of all sentient beings and for world peace.

The consecration ceremony was held in conjunction with the annual Maha Guru Tsokbum Puja, which is being observed at Ngadak Gumpa from October 21 to October 26. This five-day Puja has been a yearly tradition at the monastery for the past nine years, attracting devotees from across the region. The Maha Guru Tsokbum Puja is dedicated to invoking the blessings of Guru Padmasambhava for spiritual awakening, prosperity, and the well-being of all.

The Puja will conclude with the distribution of ‘wang’ (spiritual empowerment) to devotees, marking the culmination of this sacred event. The entire ceremony is deeply symbolic, reflecting prayers for peace, harmony, and the spiritual advancement of all beings. The gathering has become a significant event for followers of Buddhism, bringing together monks, spiritual leaders, and devotees in a shared vision of universal peace and compassion.
