NSL Is Giving Platform to Sikkimese Players From The Last Three Years
There is a largest number of football players in Sikkim in comparison to other games. The people love the game and easily becomes fans of the players. Some them have made it to the hall of football fame. By playing some national and international games.
It is also quite common that Sikkim is nurturing the players from their early childhoods these days. Namchi Football Association (NFA) treasurer, Raju Pakhrin, shares the feeling of uplifting for the grassroot players during the first match of Namchi Football League 2024 (NSL 2024).

NFA, in collaboration with Sports and Youths Affairs (SYA) Namchi, is organizing it. NSL 2024 had it’s first kicks off in Bhaichung Stadium Namchi on July 25. The whole League is going to played in this stadium only. And is adhering to the regulations of FIFA, AIFF and NEA.
Altogether ten teams from Namchi District are participating in the League. Each team has twentyfive players each, registered for the League.
Ravangla FC plays against Namthang FC on the first match of the League. Tomorrow, BSC FC will play against Childhood FC on the first match. And, CB SC Yangang will play against Friends FC in the second match.
Raju Pakhrin shares that NSL is allowing the participating Football Clubs in hiring players from within Sikkim only. The main reasons is to meet the main objective of NFA ie, to uplift local footballers and give them a platform. Furthermore, the bigger matches in Sikkim does not have criteria to allow grassroot level players to take part in them.
The most loved game of football, by Sikkimese people, is still in it’s adolescence age. But, amchi Super League is an annual event of NFA from the last three years. And it’s members are focusing on taking more skills to higher level matches in the days to come.
