Bodybuilding Association of Sikkim organises, ‘6th Mr. Sukhim and 5th Junior Mr. Sukhim’ in Kisan Market Namchi.

The event including men’s bodybuilding, and open men’s and women’s model physique has participants from all over the state. In male sports physique competition, the athletes from the neighboring places of Kalimpong, Darjeeling and Siliguri also participated.

The senior men’s bodybuilding has categories of, 55kg, 60kg, 65kg and 65plus kg. The each of the senior men’s categories has top three winners.

All the participants presented with seven compulsory poses and then individually pose for one minute music. The bodybuilders compete for chest, biceps, triceps, abs, thigh and leg.

The Junior Mr. Sukhim has seven participants and all are below 21 years of age. The top five participants competes for round 2 before entering for one minute music round.

In the open men’s sports physique, below 165cm category has twelve participants compete for top seven round. The top seven participants goes for two more rounds before entering music round.

And above 165cm category has fourteen participants competing for top ten and top six rounds.

The sports physique participants compete for the beauty, fitness, symmetry and overall physical form of the athletes.

The trial competition of open women’s model physique, has five participants presenting four compulsory poses, music round and free posing rounds.

The organizers incorporating the women’s bodybuilding competition, includes it on a trial basis. The top two participants of the model physique competition takes part in the event. The athletes competes for seven compulsory poses and free bodybuilding poses.

During the event, the organizers felicitates the associated gym owners and one dibyan category bodybuilder of Sikkim.

The mega event of competition have ‘champion of champions’ competing for the title of 6th Mr. Sukhim from men’s sports physique. The gold medalists of all the bodybuilding categories acompete for this title. Kalyan Tamang of Sichey Fitness Club is the winner of the title ‘6th Mr. Sukhim’.

Similarly, Ashish Subba of Soreng won the title of 5th Junior Mr. Sukhim. Roshni Sharma of Tadong Gangtok won women’s bodybuilding and model physique. The winner of Sports physique is Rahul Shah of Siliguri. The gold medalists of weight categories are, Karan Rai of Tadong (55kg), Pempa Singi Lama of Sichey Gangtok (60kg), Kalyan Tamang of Sichey (65kg) and Rupen Shilal of 6mile Gangtok (65plus kg).
