Ajay Edwards Announces – Indian Gorkha Janshakti Front
Ajay Edwards, Convenor of newly formed political platform – Indian Gorkha Janshakti Front, calls upon the people to his support with socio-political approach.
The regional political party of Darjeeling – Hamro Party, headed by its central committee president, Ajay Edwards, is dissolved on December 21.
In a press release of the party, on December 21, Ajay Edwards mentions the party’s decision is objective of uniting the Hills. He further mentions that the united effort of the leaders and communities of the Hills is a solution for its causes.
However, the dissolving of the party is the beginning of a newer political platform that brings in the other members too.
Ajay Edward, announces the forming of the newer political platform – Indian Gorkha Janshakti Front, at Gymkhana in Chowrashta Darjeeling, on December 22.
The leaders and people joining in the announcement are from different places of Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts.
The collective leadership is for the elimination of long-lasted lone politics prevailing in the Hills, Edward says during the announcement.
Ajay Edwards, in his speech mentions the need for the unification is for the persuasion of the ‘Gorkhaland’.
“No one should call anyone ‘anti Gorkha’ in the name of Gorkhaland,” Ajay Edwards states.
All the lands in Darjeeling belong to the people, they should not be distributed to anyone. The people belong to these lands from the time, before India got her independence, Edwards pressed.
“The new political platform is for the justice of the Gorkha community of Darjeeling”, he states. “We will give life and soul for it”, he adds.
Edwards further says that the people will not leave the land, nor the path. Meaning the tea gardens and the farming land.
The party is going to give different political posts and union heads to the members within next forty to fortyfive days.
The committee currently has to proper documents of the areas allocated to, armies, plantations, railways, highways, and DI Fund. A team of experts to bring special provisions for land issues will be made soon, it was informed.
