AKRS Namchi District Body Elects It’s New District Executive Committee

AKRS Namchi District Body elected it’s District Executive Committee, in the presence of it’s Block Level Executive Members, on May 24. The election procedure took place with ‘One Block One Vote’, and Proposal and Hand Raising System.

The newly elected Executive Body will serve the Association for next three years’ tenure for, cultural, education, and infrastructural development, of Kirat-Rai community of Namchi District, without interference of the religious or political affiliations of it’s members.

The last adhoc executive body was disassembled before the election procedure took place. Dr. Bimal Rai of Namchi, chaired the election as the Chief Commissioner. Alongwith JP Rai CEC Member Secretary AKRS, and Learned Advocate Pradeep Rai, as Commissioner I and Commissioner II respectively.

The president of central executive committee, Mohan Dungmali, served the election procedure, as an Observer. The District Executive Committee, has five Executive Body and four Executive Members, with Milan Rai of Ghurpisey Namchi as it’s president, and Arun Rai as the vice president. The newly elected Executive Committee elected CB Rai of Namchi as the General Secretary.

It is mention able that today’s election is the postponed event of AKRS Namchi District, as it was supposed to be held on 2024, after three years’ tenure of the last executive committee since its last election of 2021. But, it would have coincided with the General Election last year, the committee decided to have this election this year.

The newly elected president of DEC AKRS, Milan Rai, shares that the committee will strengthen its District Body by building strong relation between the DEC and BEC and between DEC and CEC.

The District Executive Committee has also launched their official website in 2021 (akrsnamchi.com), where all their activities are uploaded for public utility.

The President of AKRS CEC, Mohan Dungmali, have shared that the election of the Central Excutive Committee, will take place on June 22, with participation of five executive bodies elected today, and executive bodies from two more districts of Sikkim.
