Sikkim Chief Minister, PS Tamang, Announced the 2024 SLA Election Confidence, At Ravangla Mass Joining

Ravangla, September 15, 2023: The Rabongla New Market played host to a momentous event today as the SKM party organized a grand mass joining program. Distinguished attendees included the party’s President, PS Tamang, accompanied by his spouse, Krishna Rai, as well as Zilla Adhakshya Namchi, and various party executives, wings, and post holders from the Namchi District.

Remarkably, over 1,311 individuals hailing from nine GPUs and fifty-four wards within the 09-Barfung Constituency made a significant move by resigning from their respective parties to embrace the SKM party during this event.

Despite facing substantial opposition within the state, the party’s president has remained steadfast in his belief that the SKM party will secure a resounding victory in the next general election of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly. His resounding statement, “be it today, or tomorrow, or next year, our party will win all 32 seats,” underscores his unwavering determination.

While the SKM Party assumed power only in 2019, its political prowess will be significantly demonstrated by the mandates it garners in the upcoming general election. The president’s frequent references to the challenges posed by the two-year COVID-19 pandemic and its impact on the party’s productivity suggest a firm commitment to securing a full-seat victory in the impending election.

Sikkim has a history of generous voters who lend their support to promising leaders. To ensure their presence resonates across every constituency, the SKM party is tirelessly working to engage with the people under the leadership of President PS Tamang, who stands as the most influential figure in the party, both as a leader and as a proponent of the party’s objectives.

Moreover, the SKM party workers have assured the newly joined members from the 09-Barfung Constituency that the party will introduce GPU and ward-level programs in the coming days.

During his address, President PS Tamang extended a warm welcome to the new party members and emphasized the importance of unbiased and inclusive politics. He attributed the party’s previous electoral success to these principles and pledged to continue these values in their pursuit of securing all 32 seats in 2024.

Tamang announced that all SKM candidates across the state will stand united under the emblem of the ‘table lamp,’ ensuring unity and eliminating any form of factionalism within the party.

Furthermore, Chief Minister PS Tamang made several noteworthy announcements:

  1. Dearness Allowance Increase: Government employees in Sikkim will witness a 4% hike in Dearness Allowance, elevating it from 38% to 42%. This increase will be effective from January 2023, and employees will receive their arrears before Dusshera 2023.
  2. One Rank One Pension: The state is committed to implementing the One Rank One Pension policy, guaranteeing that officers who retired in 1994 will receive the same Dearness Allowance as those who retired from 2023 onwards.
  3. Old Pension Scheme Implementation: The old pension scheme will be swiftly reinstated in Sikkim.

In addition to these announcements, the Chief Minister shared uplifting news – the missing Sikkimese students from Jamnagar have been located and successfully rescued. Currently, they are en route to Delhi Sikkim House.
