STA Pushes for Sikkim’s Inclusion in National Teachers’ Welfare Scheme, Gets Assurances from Centre

On July 25, 2025, a delegation from the Sikkim Teachers Association (STA) met the Union Minister of State to push for Sikkim’s formal inclusion in the National Foundation for Teachers’ Welfare (NFTW). Backed by the Sikkim Lok Sabha MP, the delegation received positive assurances of support. The STA also met the Rajya Sabha MP from Sikkim to update him on the discussions.

The Association urged all school heads and teachers in Sikkim to register for a unique STA membership ID via its website to access welfare schemes once NFTW is implemented in the state.

STA thanked both MPs, the Chief Minister, and the Department of Education for their continued support in promoting teachers’ welfare at the national level.
