Excise Secretary Concludes Statewide Inspection of Liquor Manufacturing Units and Offices

From July 29 to 31, Excise Secretary Jeewan Subba conducted a statewide inspection of liquor manufacturing units and Excise offices in Majhitar, Rangpo, Melli, Manpur, and Jorethang.

He met with departmental staff and management teams of units like Sikkim Distillery and Yuksom Breweries, instructing officials to maintain accurate records, avoid irregularities, and report regularly.

Staff grievances were acknowledged, with assurances of necessary support.

He encouraged greater CSR contributions from the factories and emphasized discipline, cleanliness, and punctuality in all offices.

At Rangpo’s Excise testing lab, the Secretary reviewed operations and assured support for its much-needed upgrade.

The visit aimed to strengthen transparency, efficiency, and regulatory enforcement within the Excise Department.
