IHCAE Chemchey, Namchi, under the Department of Tourism and Civil Aviation, completes the ‘8th Advanced Mountaineering Course cum Expedition’ in Mt. Brumkhangtse.

The 28 days training cum expedition programme had eleven participants (14 minus 3) from different parts of India. Including, Andhra Pradesh, Chennai, Delhi, Ladakh, and Sikkim. The trainees on this programme have scaled 5,811 mts in North Sikkim’s Mt. Brumkhangtse. The three of the participants could not make the summit due to their health deterioration in the higher altitudes of the mountain.

These trainees have completed this programme after obtaining ‘grade A’ in Basic Mountaineering Course from IHCAE Chemchey, it was shared.

While sharing the testimonials, the trainees have applauded their Course Director Ashal Rai, Instructer Wangdi Lama, and Instructer Pyali Biswas, for their excellent training. While the succes from scaling the mountain has given the trainees a good boost in their morales, they have also made another achievement of bringing back their own garbage from the mountain, and disposing them in IHCAE Chemchey.

Course Director Ashal Rai have mentioned that the team shifted three camps in the mountain in 15 days halt they made up there.

Ashal Rai have further shared that whoever obtains grade A, can have further courses in search and rescue, and other fields.

The success of this event is not only the success of these trainees, but the overall agendas of IHCAE Chemchey, and Sikkim Tourism in adventure sports.
