Namchi Police Apprehended A Youth Carrying Contraband Substances
Namchi Police have intercepted one Pemba Tamang, 31 years, son of Dorjee Tamang, resident of Lower Boomtar, Namchi, at Bhanzyang Road, Namchi, on May 04.
According to the police report, Namchi Police acted against Pemba Tamang, in the morning as per the ‘tip-off’ they received.
After being apprehended by Police, a search was conducted by Namchi Police in the presence of independent witnesses and PI/Karma T Tamang, Traffic Branch, Namchi (Gazetted Officer). Wherein, a total of 27 strips of Proximec-Spas (containing Acetaminophen, Tramadol Hydrochloride, and Dicyclomine Hydrochloride) capsules, totaling 216 capsules, were recovered from a black-colored bag carried by the accused.
A criminal case under relevant sections of the Sikkim Anti Drugs Act (SADA), 2006, and the SAD Amendment Act, 2017, has been registered against the accused person.
The accused is in addiction of the contraband substance for a long time, his family members have shared, and have records of being placed in rehabilitation for more than one time.
After Namchi Police arrested him today, he has been placed in Police Custody for further investigation, it was informed.
