Sikkim Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana Cheque Distribution In Namchi

One thousand mothers from Namchi-Singithang constituency received cheques and gifts under ‘Sikkim Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana’ of the Government of Sikkim.

The each of the beneficiaries received the sum amounting to rupees twenty thousand and a thermos flask each as a gift.

The event was organized by Women, Child, Senior Citizen and Divyangjan Welfare Department in collaboration with BAC Namchi. It was observed at Kisan Market Namchi.

Councillor, Dambudara, Sailendra Chettri, have shared that all the mothers registered under the Yojana belong to the families belonging to the BPL categories. He have further shared that the age limit of the beneficiaries is 18-59 years of age. And that, the individuals reaching the age of 60 will automatically be registered for the old age pension scheme.

The Government of Sikkim have taken initiative of supporting every girl child through Baini Scheme.

In today’s cheque distribution programme, one thousand beneficiaries belong to the four GPUs and one ULB of Namchi-Singithang constituency. Maniram-Phalidara, Rong-Bul, Boomtar-Salleybong, Kopchey-Mikkhola and Namchi Municipality.

The beneficiaries and the councillors have thanked the chief minister of Sikkim, PS Tamang, for his initiative to uplift mothers who are going through difficulty in everyday life.

Amongst the beneficiaries were single mothers, mothers with children with sicknesses, mothers who are the patients to long-term illnesses and mothers who are sending their children to private tuitions.

They have also thanked the former MLA of Namchi-Singithang constituency, Krishna Kumari Rai, and MLA Satish Chandra Rai for their smooth implications of Sikkim Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana in the area.

During testimonials, they have shared that they want to use the amount received for education of children, saving bank deposits, and some of them want to use it for the upcoming Dashain and Diwali expenses.
