Asthayi Employees Bharosha Sammelan Organized by Sikkim Government
The event witnessed the participation of central and state government employees, including MR and Adhoc staff, temporary workers, beneficiaries of the ‘One Family One Job’ initiative (OFOJ), and Anganwadi workers from across all districts of Sikkim. Notable attendees included the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly, the Chief Minister, political dignitaries, MLAs, ministers, secretaries, former ministers, former MLAs, and other prominent figures.

A key highlight of the event was the release of the notification for ‘4 years regularization’ by Chief Minister PS Tamang. Employees who had completed eight years of service were presented with letters of appointment, alongside announcements regarding the restoration of the old pension system, regularization of temporary benchmark disabilities, and other significant measures.
Chief Minister Tamang was felicitated by various welfare associations, including those representing OFOJ beneficiaries, teaching and non-teaching staff, Asha workers, Anganwadi workers, and several others, as a token of appreciation for the regularization efforts.
During his address, Minister GT Dhungel and SKM Party coordinator Jacob Khaling emphasized the government’s commitment to employee welfare. Chief Minister Tamang highlighted the recent amendment to the Regularization Act, reducing the service requirement from eight to four years, and assured employees of fair treatment regardless of their years of service.

Furthermore, Chief Minister Tamang credited the SKM Party for introducing the OFOJ concept in 2014 and reiterated the government’s dedication to ensuring equal opportunities for all employees.
Several propositions were put forth during the event, including the introduction of new positions within the Department of Forest and Environment, eligibility for regularization for land donors with three years of service, assimilation of vocational teachers into the education department, and an increase in honorarium for MG-NREGA barefoot engineers.

Overall, the Asthayi Employees Bharosha Sammelan served as a platform for acknowledging the contributions of temporary employees and outlining the government’s initiatives towards their regularization and welfare.
